Lab Description

This lab show an MPLS network with two public facing MPLS customer sites.

Various MPLS TE Tunnels have been configured…
Tunnel 10201 on PE1:

  • Tailend is PE2 (200.200.200.200)
  • Uses an explicit path (via P5) to get to PE2.
  • Uses dynamic path selection as a option 2
  • Reserves 5Mbps
  • Has been given a high setup and hold priority.
  • 44.1.1.0/24 is statically routed down this tunnel

Tunnel 10202 on PE1:

  • Tailend is PE2 (200.200.200.200)
  • Uses a dynamic path
  • Reserves 10Mbps
  • Uses Autoroute Announce

Tunnel 202 on PE2:

  • Tailend is P2 (2.2.2.2)
  • Uses a dynamic path
  • Runs LDP over a tunnel in the other direction from P2
  • Uses Autoroute Announc

Tunnel 220 on P2:

  • Tailend is PE2 (200.200.200.200)
  • Uses a dynamic path
  • Runs LDP over a tunnel in the other direction from PE2
  • Uses Autoroute Announce

The tunnels on P2 and PE2 give a good example of a TE tunnel that ends on a P router.

Tracing from the loopbacks of the PE devices shows the various paths that the traffic takes through tunnels

At number of points (as indicated on GNS3 topology) the TE Administrative Weight of several interfaces has been adjusted to manipulate the tunnel paths.
